Bringing smiles to THE AFFECTED FAMILIES DURING THE PANDEMIC BY THE ALASKA GROUP
12th December, 2021 – Over the past year, the Alaska Group has consistently extended its aid to the vulnerable communities across the nation through the CSR programmes. These programmes have extended its help to elderly and orphanage home, students, B40 families and to everyday Malaysians.
Based on our aspirations under the “Social” pillar of the Group’s sustainability framework, our goal is simply to make a positive difference to our local communities, especially those in the areas that we operate.
Group CEO, Mr. Keith Lee said that he believes that it is more blessed to give than to receive. During the pandemic times, many families are deeply affected when their breadwinner was experiencing loss of job or huge pay cut, putting a meal on the family table has been a tall ordeal for these families.
The Group has donated Covid-19 care packs together with some daily necessities to few of the families and individuals with affected incomes due to the pandemic in a center located in the Jalan Bangau 11, Bandar Puchong Jaya.
Aside from the above initiative, the Group also see the importance in continuing the render the aids to the vulnerable families from all aspects to be consistently aligned with the Group’s vision in enriching the forgotten or vulnerable communities for a better day.
BRINGING JOYS AND SMILES TO THE ELDERLY HOME UNDER THE “COVID-19 RELIEF & CHARITY PROGRAMME” BY THE ALASKA GROUP
26th November, 2021– The Alaska Group did it, once again!
Known or unknown, there have been continuous and consistent efforts by the Alaska Group to help the less fortunate through the Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) under the dedicated programme of “Covid-19 Relief & Charity Programme”.
Despite a challenging year with most of the community based at home due to the lockdowns, The Alaska Group and their team members did not hesitate in continuing to support the destitute senior citizens in need.
On last Thursday, the Group has donated Covid-19 care packs to the senior citizens in the “Pertubuhan Kebajikan Orang Tua Shan Xing”, an elderly home which is tucked away in a matured residential neighbourhood in Puchong. Nonetheless, a hearty vegetarian luncheon has also been sponsored by the Group on the same donation day.
Aside from the above initiative, the Group also see the importance in aiding the elderly home to sustain its operation in a long term manner, henceforth, a monthly fixed donation and supplies of groceries together with other food items have also become part of the long-term commitment by the Group to this elderly home in order to honor their “Covid-19 Relief & Charity Programme” and of course, to be consistently aligned the Group’s vision in enriching the forgotten elderly communities for a better day.
The Alaska group’s HOLISTIC APPROACH IN ADDRESSING the PUBLIC OFFICIALs HEALTH & WELL BEING
23rd November, 2021– Since its establishment, the Alaska Group has always recognised their roles in building a well-balanced community and they have always gone beyond their duties to benefit not just their mining business development, but also the community at large.
Known or unknown, there have been manifold efforts by the Alaska Group to help the less fortunate through the Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Though the philanthropic exercise has not started only now, it has become even more crucial at such times when the Covid-19 pandemic has deepened the predicaments for and unsettled a larger part of society.
Noting the importance of keeping the frontliners and public officials safe during these critical times, the Alaska Group has embarked on one of the vital components of their “Covid-19 Relief & Charity Programme” by donating boxes of face masks and hand sanitisers to the PEJABAT PENGARAH TANAH DAN GALIAN PERAK DARUL RIDZUAN (“PTG Perak”) and JABATAN MINERAL DAN GEOSAINS NEGERI PERAK (“JMG Perak”).
Aside from the above donation, the Group also ensure that they extend their helping hands to the needy and vulnerable communities through their monthly donation and distribution of essential household items to various orphanage, OKU and elderly homes in different parts of Malaysia.
In respond to this, albeit in the midst of such difficult time, the Group CEO said the Alaska Group is committed to provide their continuous and relentless support in terms of monthly PPE donations in hope to help and ensure the healthcare workers who are considered as the vulnerable group are well equipped with the much-needed PPE while attending to their duties.
It is also part of the Group’s plan to continue this initiative to help more peoples and enriching communities for a better future. In addition, other than the above initiative, and in order to support Malaysia’s medical frontliners, donations of medical supplies and personal protective equipment have also been carried out consistently benefitting different medical institutions and hospitals in Malaysia.
The Alaska Group’s Donation Of PPE And Medical Equipment To UKM Hospital For COVID-19 Relief
25th June, 2021-The Alaska Group of Companies has donated cartons of PPE such as gloves, coverall protection, protective gowns and other medical equipment as COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts to UKM Hospital, Malaysia on 25th June, 2021 through logistics collaboration with Persatuan Kecemasan Sukarelawan Malaysia (“PKSM”).
The PPE and other medical equipment will be distributed to UKM’s Department of Children Specialist.
The Chairman of PKSM, Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Chang C.K has through their letter dated 27th June, 2021 addressed to the Alaska Group, extended their utmost appreciation for such selfless donation which has greatly aid PKSM to sail through the rough waters in executing their duties amidst the COVID-19 pandemic outbreaks.
As the number of active Covid-19 cases hit a record of more than 650,000 on 23rd June, 2021, it is undeniable that the scarcity of PPE is a problem faced by healthcare workers as the front liner in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic especially when the majority of the Malaysian hospitals are facing coronavirus outbreaks among the healthcare workers and staffs.
